ARTECAPITAL INTERVIEW WITH JOÃO GOMES GAGO
“In the midst of the 2021 lockdown, I decided to mail him some fragments of 'common pottery' from the proto-historic era and posed him the challenge: what do these artifacts, considered 'garbage' by archaeologists, tell us? After months of dialogue about narratives crystallized in archeology, the result was the production of an archeological diary by the artist, which we share in an exclusive way at ArteCapital. This work of artistic speculation questions the archaeological practice of disposal, the continuous recycling of materials, and is part of the study of curatorship in art/archaeology, within the research project "Archaeologies of the Presence" (…)
